Sex and Sexuality

One of the side-effects of pursuing one’s BDSM dreams, and being pretty open about it, is getting questions from people. Which makes me very happy.

People are too freaked out about sex and sexuality. Whether one is an enthusiast or asexual–or any flavour in between–we are so worried about being abnormal or weird, that we don’t talk about it. We’re afraid that expressing interest in information about sex and sexuality will taint us. Or we pretend to know more than we do for fear of ….?

That world of ignorance makes exploiting people easier.

I have met so many people whose knowledge of sex is a patchwork of inadequate “health” classes, talk among peers, rumours, religion, and fear. Wouldn’t it be magnificent if we could talk about the realities of sex, without the fear and shame?
